US Non-Farm Payroll: Breakdown

Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) in the United States grew by 916,000 in March, according to data reported on Friday by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) in the United States grew by 916,000 in March, this reading came in much higher than the industry forecast of 647,000 and accompanied February’s rise of 468,000 (revised from 379,000).

Further specifics of the report showed that the Labor Force Participation Rate increased to 61.5 percent and the Unemployment Rate decreased to 6% from 6.2 percent, all of which were in line with analysts’ expectations.

Finally, wage growth, as calculated by Average Hourly Wages, plummeted to 4.2 percent from 5.2 percent on an annual basis, missing the industry expectation of 4.5 percent.

The DXY USD index saw some downside movement on the back of the Non-Farm Payroll release.
